The big slow bloke v the fat quick bloke II...
Who wins, in what round and why?

Or does nobody give a toss about what boxing commentators are almost certainly not calling "The Free Ad For Riyadh"?

No mandatory defence since 2017.

There have been some brilliant Olympic heavyweight gold medalists, then there was Fraudley Harrison!!

There was a poster on here who used to get really pissed off with the flack Harrison used to get on here, forget who it was.

I wonder how that Cuban legend Teofilo Stevenson would have got on if he had been allowed to join the professional ranks.

Joshua has 3 belts for a reason.

Wilder has one belt because he has made a career out of fighting bums and 40 year olds, getting out boxed and relying on his haymaker.

Fury has no belts because he spent 2 years snorting coke and eating fried chicken.

"The IBF and WBO have both had Mandatory challengers for over 3 years."

Which Joshua had fights for. Povetkin was the WBO mandatory, and Takam was the IBF mandatory.

I suggest you do your homework before coming out with stuff like that.

I personally wouldn't call him bang average in today's standards, but the geezer raked in £66mil for that last night. It was a pretty bang average performance, yet you get his fanclub talking of 'dancing around the ring'.

Just the thread I think.

"Your argument really is flawless. "

I'm aware of that, because it's based on fact rather than opinion. Whyte has been ranked no 1 by the WBC for more than 600 days. Wilder hasn't fought him.

Your argument then was that Joshua hasn't fought his mandatories. I demonstrated that he did.
Not much else to discuss.

Why would a boxer avoid Whyte but fight Fury TWICE.

If you don't know the answer to that, maybe boxing isn't for you

A mandatory for that belt has not been faced in over 3 years.

Again, what does that have to do with Joshua, when he had it for a year? He's always been very clear about fighting his mandatories, in order to keep his belts.

Wilder, on the other hand, has swerved Whyte at every opportunity. WBC have done him a favour by putting Fury there to make the rematch, and then he'll find some other excuse not to fight Whyte after that.

Uysk automatically become Mandatory because he stepped up from the lower division where he held the belts.

A mandatory for that belt has not been faced in over 3 years.

Re: The big slow bloke v the fat quick bloke II...
Whyte has been cleared.

Still, that no relevance to Wilder opting to fight the likes of Brezeale instead of him.

Re: The big slow bloke v the fat quick bloke II...
Whyte is also no longer Mandatory for WBC after his failed drugs test probably another reason why Hearn cant get that fight.

Re: The big slow bloke v the fat quick bloke II...
erm, Joshua agreed to fight Pulev, his IBF mandatory but Pulev pulled out injured. How is that Joshua's fault? He fought Povetkin, his WBA mandatory challenger at the first available opportunity, and he only won the WBO belt in March 2018 so what you're going on about 3 years for there I have no idea - not to mention that Usyk is their mandatory, who has been an active heavyweight for 3 months, not 3 years.

The IBF and WBO have both had Mandatory challengers for over 3 years.

Joshua only now looking to fight them because it has finally been ordered.

Re: The big slow bloke v the fat quick bloke II...
People have very short memories.

There is a reason why he now has two mandatory challengers in Uysk and Pulev.

He could have fought Wilder 1/2 years ago.

Boxing must be the only sport where the spectacle is bigger than the actual fight itself. Hearn has this down to a tee.

Boxers are pros. They are not avoiding each other because they are scared. They are avoiding each other because they can earn more money taking bigger shares of purses from lesser fighters.

That is one of the big problems with heavyweight boxing. People compare it to the 90s because like football money has taken over the sport.

They will have their day eventually but not for some time and it will be on their terms not the fans.

His first fight against Ruiz woke a few people up.

Once both he and hearn have enough money in the bank we will finally see him fight Wilder or Fury. He will lose but by then he and hearn wont care.

Re: The big slow bloke v the fat quick bloke II...
Dillian WHYTE has been top ranked for more than 600 days, and Hearn hasn't been able to make that fight with Wilder.

The only ducking that's been going on at the top level has been Wilder ducking him.

Eerie Descent 11:17 Mon Dec 9
Re: The big slow bloke v the fat quick bloke II...
I don't think the man himself is ducking anyone, but do you honestly think if they wanted to make the fights with Wilder or Fury, they wouldn't be able to?

I actually quite like Eddie Hearn, he knows what he's doing.

Lee Trundle 11:14 Mon Dec 9
Re: The big slow bloke v the fat quick bloke II...
I love the way Joshua is seen to be ducking fighters by winning world titles and taking the mandatory fights when he has to.

He (like most boxers I'd imagine) wants to be the undisputed champion, meaning he'll be fighting Pulev or Usyk next, and then probably the other one after that one if he wins. You'll be waiting a year or so before he can even think about Wilder of Fury.

I'm not his biggest fan by a long way, but there's been some unbelievable bollocks on this thread.

Eerie Descent 11:11 Mon Dec 9
Re: The big slow bloke v the fat quick bloke II...
Of course he won't fight Wilder or Fury any time soon, he'll fight Pulev next, then I reckon they'll make the Miller fight to get in a load more dough before taking any risks.

I don't blame them at all, to be honest.
